How to Prepare for University Entry Test?

I am a university guy and I myself faced many problems in the preparation for University entry tests. I cleared 3 aptitude test (FAST, COMSATS, NED ) out of 4  without joining any coaching for its preparation. So, I think you guys are facing the same situation that I have overlooked. This blog is basically for those who are working really hard for aptitude tests.

1st Step: How To Start?

Firstly grab a preparation book/notes from any renowned institute for aptitude like (Anees Hussain or Doctor's inn or any other). Gather the books of your respective subjects ( Chemistry, Physics, English, Maths or Bio).

Before starting the preparation you must know the testing criteria of the university you are preparing for.  ( For Example: I was studying for NED university and its aptitude test is based on 4 parts each of 25 marks).

2nd Step: Schedule.

Fix a time for study and it depends on your convince ( day or night or both). Prepare a time table with daily targets. And never forget how much time you have.
For Example:
Study Timing: 7:00a.m-10a.m
Monday: chap1( chemistry), chap 1( maths).
Tuesday: Chap 2 (maths), Chap 1 ( physics)
Wednesday: chap2 (chem), chap2 ( physics)
.
And so on till Saturday (or Sunday) if you like.

3rd Step: Study, revision and practice.

Start with a subject you are master in.  Open chapter 1 read the theory understand the numerical build a complete concept then open The Notes I mentioned in the first step and start solving the MCQs of that chapter and likewise day by day of all chapters.

Before getting into step 4 make sure that you have achieved the following targets.

  •  You have completed all the chapters of all Subjects i.e. maths, bio, chemistry, physics, English. If you have lack of time you should exclude those chapters or topics that are somehow unimportant.
  • Your concepts are cleared.
  •  You have solved the practice notes (mentioned in the first step) chapter wise.

4th Step: Overview & Past papers.

This step is for the time when the test date is very near. You should start solving the past papers of that university. ( At least solve 3 to 5 years).
Then a week before paper, start a subject-wise overview to recall everything you have prepared.
